PROJECT
Hostile Vehicle Mitigation – Keeping Brisbane Safe
In 2019 the Brisbane City Council went out to tender seeking the supply of 80-100 hostile vehicle mitigation bollards. The tender was for both static and retractable high security impact rated bollards for Council to install at various locations around the Brisbane CBD that have been identified for future risk reduction treatments.
Create Security was successful in securing the 2019 tender. This was the second time Create Security would be supplying the Council with a large number of impact rated HVM bollards to mitigate against hostile vehicle attacks in the Brisbane City. Create Security was engaged by Council in 2017 for the city’s first landmark HVM security upgrade of Brisbane’s King George Square. This project involved the installation of over 70 impact rated HVM bollards on the Square.
In 2020 the first site to receive a security upgrade as part of this project was the iconic Queen Street Mall in the Brisbane CBD. The bollards were strategically and aesthetically incorporated into the precinct to safeguard pedestrians and premises against the risk of vehicle attacks. The next site marked for installation is Brunswick Mall in Fortitude Valley, with works scheduled to begin in late 2021.
Create Security is dedicated to building a safer Brisbane and is proud to be the largest supplier of high security impact rated bollards in Queensland. We have expert knowledge of the HVM impact rated products we supply and the qualifications and proven expertise to successfully implement HVM designed security solutions. Create Security looks forward to the roll out of the newly acquired bollards into other areas of the Brisbane CBD to help mitigate the risk of vehicle attacks in the city.
